Ukrainian Pension Fund Disburses 60 Billion Hryvnias in Early 2023
Funding for Social Payments in Ukraine
According to Пенсії (RSS): The Ukrainian Pension Fund has released data on its social payment funding as of February 22, 2023. In February alone, the fund's offices provided 1,145,400 services to individuals who applied for assistance. This system is a critical component of the nation's social safety net, especially during the ongoing conflict.
Breakdown of Fund Allocation
A total of 60.0 billion hryvnias was allocated for pension payments. This sum was distributed as follows:
- 8.7 billion hryvnias were paid out via JSC 'Ukrposhta',
- 51.3 billion hryvnias were disbursed through authorized banks.
- 4.6 billion hryvnias were funded for housing subsidies and benefits,
- 2.9 billion hryvnias were allocated for insurance payments, of which 1.7 billion hryvnias covered sick leave.
- 8.5 million hryvnias were directed toward state aid and other payments.
These figures highlight the vital role of social payments for the Ukrainian population, particularly amid current economic pressures.
