Pensioners 65+ will receive a pension increase in October: how much

In October 2025, Ukrainian pensioners who have reached the age of 65 will receive a pension increase to the level established by the state if their payments are below the minimum threshold. This was reported by the publication “On pension”.

What is the minimum pension for people aged 65 and over

According to the legislation, pensioners who have reached 65 years of age are entitled to a pension that is no less than 40% of the minimum wage determined by the state budget, or the minimum subsistence for people who have lost their capacity to work. In 2025, this amounts to UAH 3200. If the pension is lower, the state compensates the difference. From March 1, 2025, in accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. 209 dated February 25, 2025, the minimum pension for people aged 65+ including surcharges will be UAH 3758. To receive such a payment, one must meet the conditions:

• Receive a pension due to age, disability, loss of breadwinner, or seniority.
• Have an insurance record: no less than 35 years for men or 30 years for women.

What age supplements to pensions exist in Ukraine

In addition, older pensioners receive automatic age supplements:

• After 70 years – up to UAH 300.
• After 75 years – up to UAH 456.
• After 80 years – up to UAH 570.

These supplements are calculated automatically, without the need to apply to the Pension Fund, but only if the pension does not exceed UAH 10,340.35. In October, the supplements will be received by those who celebrated their birthday in September, and the amount of payment depends on the number of days when the pensioner reached the corresponding age.
