Pensioners receive gas bills without consumption: how to avoid payments

Recent increases in utility tariffs have become a serious problem for pensioners. They feel a particularly heavy blow to their wallets due to charges for gas delivery. Meanwhile, the National Commission that regulates these issues explains that payment for these services will be required regardless of age or volume of gas consumption. For pensioners, as well as for all other consumers, this is a mandatory expense.

Ignoring complaints, the regulator explains that the cost of the gas section is not related to consumption volumes. All subscribers must pay for delivery regardless of whether they use gas or not.

Additional difficulties for citizens are created by the procedure for submitting meter readings - if this deadline is missed, inflated bills appear. At the same time, other tariffs are also being reviewed, and from October 1, 2025, special prices for services will be introduced for apartments with electric heating. Some families have had to face smaller subsidies due to recalculations from the Pension Fund.

The increase in tariffs and additional misunderstandings with meter reading submissions have led to a difficult financial situation for Ukrainian pensioners, which requires attention from the authorities and further measures to improve the situation.
