Pierre Gasly sensationally won the qualifying at the Italian Grand Prix of Formula 1
Alpine driver Pierre Gasly sensationally secured pole position at the Italian Grand Prix. The Frenchman posted the best time in qualifying at Monza, ahead of George Russell from Mercedes and Oscar Piastri from McLaren. This was reported by Terrikon.
The battle for the top spot was extremely tight. Gasly and the driver in seventh place were separated by just 0.307 seconds.

Pierre Gasly completed the best lap in 1 minute 21.786 seconds. George Russell was just 0.060 seconds behind the Frenchman, while Oscar Piastri was 0.180 seconds off.
The Ferrari drivers at their home race secured fourth and fifth positions. Charles Leclerc was 0.218 seconds behind the leader, while Lewis Hamilton was 0.225 seconds back.
Reigning world champion Max Verstappen from Red Bull finished sixth, 0.284 seconds behind Gasly.
Antonelli will start last at the Italian Grand Prix on September 6
Current season leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli finished seventh, 0.307 seconds behind the pole sitter. However, the Mercedes driver is set to start the race from the last position due to an engine replacement.
The top ten in qualifying also included Franco Colapinto from Alpine, Lando Norris from McLaren, and Arvid Lindblad from RB.
