Ukrainian zombie horror hits theaters: what is known about the Kakhovka object

According to glavcom.ua: This week, seven films from different countries have entered Ukrainian distribution, reports the portal «Glavkom». One of them is the film «Kakhovka Object».

According to the plot, after the destruction of the Kakhovka dam, Ukrainian soldiers conduct an inspection of the territory that has come under water. The group is led by a fighter with the call sign Mara - played by actress Marina Koshkina in the film. During the reconnaissance, the military stumble upon a secret Soviet bunker that has been hidden for decades at the bottom of the reservoir. Once in these catacombs, inhuman experiments on people were conducted, and their terrible consequences have remained here forever: mutilated, half-decayed creatures that belong neither to the living nor to the dead, but embody a phantom of Soviet ideology.

The film «Kakhovka Object», created in Ukraine, is the first feature-length zombie horror with elements of an action film. Its authors called it the first anti-Soviet action movie in Ukraine. Actors who are military medics were involved in the filming, and for greater authenticity, actress Marina Koshkina even underwent special training.

This week, Ukrainian viewers have the opportunity to see seven new films of various genres, including the first Ukrainian film in the zombie horror genre with elements of action «Kakhovka Object». In addition, the American-British drama «Kidnapped» hits the screens, which tells the story of a mother who sets out to search for her kidnapped daughter in Beirut along with her husband, who is searching for missing children.
