According to glavcom.ua: The Ukrainian petition to ban Russian-language versions of Ukrainian websites has gained the necessary number of votes. According to its author, Russian-language versions are not only unnecessary but also pose a threat to Ukraine's information security.

The petition proposes a ban on the creation and operation of websites with a Russian-language interface, as well as responsibility for those who violate this norm. The government of the country is expected to consider this. There has also been criticism of the idea of 'language patrols' and statistics on the use of the Russian language in schools, which have shown a serious decline in the use of the Ukrainian language.

The new authorized representative for the protection of the state language, Olena Ivanovska, also warned against imposing Russian content on Ukrainian users on international platforms as an issue of information security.
