PFU shows pension size by regions: where the highest payments occur
In 2025, the issue of pensions in our country remains a favorite topic of discussion. According to data from the Pension Fund, as of July 1, the highest average pensions are observed in the capital - in Kyiv, retirees receive 8,856 hryvnias. In contrast, the lowest payments are found in Ternopil region, where retirees receive only 4,967 hryvnias. This geographical unevenness in pension amounts is explained by different levels of wages and lengths of employment in the regions. Overall, most Ukrainian retirees receive between 3,001 and 4,000 hryvnias, although there are those who receive pensions that do not exceed even 3,000 hryvnias. Thus, the size of pensions in Ukraine can vary significantly depending on the place of residence. Compared to other regions, a favorable situation with pensions is observed in Kyiv, while the worst is in Ternopil Region. Nevertheless, state payments allow most Ukrainian retirees to survive despite the differences in amounts.
