Issue Resolved – Zelensky Summarizes Meeting with Biden

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is returning from the United States with good results.

The issue of acquiring Patriot air defense systems is resolved. The president stated this in a video address, reports Gazeta.ua.

'When we talk about 'patriots' in Ukraine and the United States, we all mean the protection of the state and people. This issue is resolved for Ukraine. There is also financial support. There are other agreements, which will be discussed later,' Zelensky said.

Zelensky thanked U.S. President Joseph Biden 'for the assistance and for his international leadership.'

'And for the determination to win,' he said.

The president also thanked the U.S. Congress 'both chambers, both parties, all those who support Ukraine, all those who wish for victory just like all of us.'

Zelensky also congratulated the energy workers on their professional day.

'Congratulations to all of you, defenders of the Ukrainian light. We are bringing new agreements to assist you. Glory to Ukraine,' he addressed.

On December 21, Zelensky met with Biden at the White House. This is the first foreign visit of the head of state during the full-scale Russian aggression.

On the same day, Biden signed a memorandum to allocate up to $1 billion. The funds will go towards providing weapons and defense services to Ukraine and preparing Ukrainian military personnel. The new military assistance includes, in particular, the Patriot missile defense system.

Today, Zelensky flew to Poland and met with the country's president, Andrzej Duda.
