PlayCity launches system to block illegal casinos: how it works

The Ukrainian State Gambling and Lottery Regulation Agency PlayCity has implemented a tracking system for illegal casino websites, which simplifies their blocking. This online platform automates the detection and blocking of such sites, as well as generates a list of possible mirrors and related domains used to bypass restrictions. Through this system, one can check the legal status of casinos, report illegal sites, file complaints against internet providers, and download a database of illegal casino sites. This way, providers will be able to quickly block access, and the public will receive information about this activity. Previously, the PlayCity agency fined eight licensed casinos a total of 3.2 million UAH for violations of the law on state regulation of gambling. The casinos received fines of 400,000 UAH for the late submission of mandatory reports in accordance with the law. In addition, the company Meta excluded seven Instagram accounts for advertising casinos, which is a violation of the legislation, as advertising gambling can only be conducted on designated platforms. This new tracking system for illegal casino websites in Ukraine will simplify the blocking of illegal sites and ensure more effective control over the gaming industry in the country.
