Supplement for Honored Donors in Ukraine

According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukraine's Pension Fund has introduced a monthly bonus for recognized blood donors. The additional payment amounts to 259 hryvnias per month. To receive this benefit, eligible individuals must submit the required documents to the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

Eligibility Criteria for Status and Payments

The title of 'Honored Donor of Ukraine' is granted to those who donate the following without compensation:

• 40 maximum doses of blood,
• 60 doses of plasma,
• 40 doses of blood cells (red blood cells, platelets, or white blood cells).

Holders of the 'Honored Donor of the USSR' badge are also entitled to this supplement. The bonus is calculated as 10% of the living wage, which currently stands at 2,595 hryvnias.

To apply for the payment, donors must provide:

• a written application,
• a passport or another form of photo identification,
• their tax identification number,
• documents confirming their donor award.

Individuals can become donors once they turn 18. On the day of donation, donors are excused from work, school, or military duty. They are also entitled to a day off after the procedure or may add it to their annual leave. Donors who give two doses of blood or four doses of plasma per year without compensation receive 100% of their average salary during sick leave.

To retire at age 60, a minimum of 33 years of insurance coverage is required. Pension payments may be denied due to insufficient coverage, errors in paperwork, or false information.

The introduction of this bonus for honored donors represents a significant step in acknowledging their contribution to meeting society's medical needs.
