Starting November 4, Ukraine Faces Cooling Weather and First Wet Snowfall
Cooling Trend Begins Across Ukraine
According to ХВИЛЯ: As November unfolds, temperatures in Ukraine are set to drop, with a noticeable chill arriving from November 4. This cooling will begin in the western and northern regions before spreading nationwide. During the first three days of November, the weather will remain relatively stable with only minor rainfall expected in the far north, Odesa region, and the Carpathian foothills. Nighttime temperatures will hover between +2°C and +8°C, while daytime highs will range from +7°C to +13°C. Meanwhile, the southeast and Crimea will experience the highest temperatures around November 3, reaching up to +16°C to +18°C.
Weather Outlook from November 4 to 10
From November 4 onward, daytime temperatures are predicted to fall to between +3°C and +9°C, with nighttime lows fluctuating from -3°C to +3°C. The first wet snow of the season is likely between November 6 and 7, driven by a cold atmospheric front. Northern, northeastern regions, and the Carpathians may see snow accumulation ranging from 0.5 cm to 4 cm. In contrast, southern Ukraine will primarily experience rain and drizzle during this period. Winds are expected to come from the north and northwest, gusting between 15 and 20 m/s.
According to meteorologist Ihor Kibalchych, "The cooling will start on November 4 in the western and northern parts of Ukraine before extending across the entire country."
Between November 8 and 10, precipitation should gradually subside due to the influence of an anticyclone, though temperatures will remain seasonally cool, occasionally falling 1–3 degrees below average. Climate Forecast System (CFS) models indicate the highest chances of the first snowfall on Ukraine’s left-bank regions and in the Carpathians.
This anticipated drop in temperature is typical for autumn in Ukraine but marks a transition towards winter conditions. This shift may pose challenges for the agricultural sector, as some crops could require additional protection against the cold. Moreover, the colder weather is expected to increase demand for heating devices and energy resources. Residents should prepare for potential difficulties, including the impact of the initial snow on travel and road safety.
