According to glavcom.ua: In the Odesa shopping center 'Athens', a loud scandal erupted around a 'cat cafe' that offered cats for rent. It later turned out that the animals were kept in improper conditions, and two cats died. The police have already initiated a criminal investigation. The establishment constantly housed 12 cats, which could be interacted with after payment, but there were no rules for visitors.

The public reaction was intense - social media users began to sound the alarm to save the animals. Representatives of the Department of Ecology and Recreational Zone Development of the Odesa City Council, along with a veterinarian, have already visited the establishment for inspection. The owner was unable to present documents on the cats' vaccinations, so the inspection was not completed. The situation is being further investigated by the police and animal rights activists.
