Development of the Stratus system

According to ХВИЛЯ: Polish scientists from Gdańsk University of Technology have developed a new electromagnetic system Stratus, which is capable of neutralizing enemy drones using powerful electromagnetic pulses. This technology has successfully passed laboratory tests, indicating its effectiveness in countering unmanned aerial vehicles. The project received funding of over 21 million zlotys, which is approximately 5 million euros.

Implementation and significance

The Stratus system has not yet been introduced into serial operation, but it is already known that the first elements of this drone countermeasure system have been installed on the border with Belarus. Starting in January, the radar will detect and neutralize enemy drones, highlighting the importance of this development in ensuring security. The Stratus development opens new possibilities for combating unmanned aviation, which can have a significant impact on military and civilian operations.

The establishment of the Stratus system in the context of modern military threats indicates the growing need for technologies capable of countering unmanned aerial vehicles, which are increasingly used in conflicts. The implementation of such a system on the border with Belarus could serve as an important step in strengthening the defense capabilities of Poland and its partners, especially in light of the escalating security situation in the region.
