New Air Raid Response Guidelines and Training Programs Announced

These instructions will be accessible on official government websites, shared with local authorities through regional governors, and handed out at Civil Protection Academy events as well as national and regional emergency response drills.

Interior Ministry's Advice for Citizens

The Polish Ministry of the Interior urges residents to familiarize themselves with warning signals and shelter locations. Families are encouraged to:

• Establish a clear plan of action;
• Designate a safe meeting point;
• Agree on communication protocols;
• Prepare an evacuation bag in advance.

When an alarm sounds, individuals should grab their emergency bags and essential medications, then proceed to shelters using stairs rather than elevators. If caught outside for an extended period, people are advised to stay inside buildings with sturdy walls and follow the "two walls" safety rule. Should a blast occur in open areas, the recommended action is to lie face down in a depression and protect the head. Those traveling by car must exit the vehicle immediately and seek the nearest safe location.

The Ministry is conducting emergency preparedness exercises across several voivodeships. Recent drills took place last Saturday in the Lublin and Subcarpathian regions, with upcoming sessions planned for Podlaskie and Warmian-Masurian voivodeships. On September 10, Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned of expected Russian attacks targeting border crossings with Ukraine, comments made amid a series of strikes by Russia on international checkpoints.

“This guide is not a replacement for the existing Safety Manual but serves as an important supplement,” explained Magdalena Roguska.

These initiatives aim to boost public readiness for potential threats and ensure citizen safety throughout the country.
