Giorgio Armani was born on July 11, 1934, in the northern Italian city of Piacenza to Ugo Armani, an accountant for a transport company, and Maria Raimondi. He initially studied at the medical faculty of the University of Milan but dropped out in 1953 to serve in the army.

The company noted that Armani worked until the last days of his life, dedicating himself to creating new collections and projects. Over the years of his career, the designer built a fashion empire that expanded into music, sports, and luxury hotels.
