According to glavcom.ua: The outstanding Ukrainian artist, representative of nonconformist art, Vladimir Naumets passed away at the age of 80. This was reported by the Museum of Modern Art in Odessa.

«Vladimir Naumets was a true visionary, whose work expanded the boundaries of possibility in art and significantly influenced the development of contemporary art. His contribution to the development of Ukrainian and world art is invaluable. An important participant in Odessa's unofficial nonconformist art, the first Odessa conceptualist», - says the announcement.

It is noted that Naumets was one of the first in Ukraine to boldly experiment with new media, integrating light figures made of neon tubes into his installations, creating unique visual and conceptual works.

The Artist's Legacy

Vladimir Naumets was born in 1945 in Lviv and received his artistic education at the Odessa State Art School and the Moscow State Academy of Arts. In 1989, he emigrated to Germany. The artist's works are held in various museums in Europe and the United States.

It is worth noting that recently, the outstanding artist of Ukraine, Tatiana Sheliga, also passed away.

Ukrainian art has lost one of its brightest and most influential representatives - the first Odessa conceptualist Vladimir Naumets, whose work opened new possibilities in contemporary art. His contribution to the development of unofficial art and experiments with new media will forever remain in the history of Ukrainian culture.
