Zelenskyy: Over Ten Nations Seek Ukraine's Expertise in Countering Iranian 'Shahed' Drones
Ukrainian President Visits France
According to Главком: During a visit to France on March 13, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that more than ten countries have approached Ukraine for assistance in defending against Iranian-made 'Shahed' drones. President Zelenskyy's meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron took place at the Élysée Palace at approximately 2:00 p.m.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine possesses significant, hard-won experience in countering these drones.
“Because of this war and these massive attacks, Ukraine now has the world's greatest expertise in countering 'Shahed' drones. It is not enough to simply acquire interceptors; you must have the practical experience of using them. Our soldiers have this experience, and it requires systematic work with radars and the entire air defense system,”
the Ukrainian President stressed.
International Support and Emerging Threats
In a related development, UK Defence Secretary John Healey suggested that Russia may be aiding Iran in the deployment of attack drones.
“I think it will surprise no one that behind some of Iran's tactical actions, and perhaps some of its weaponry, is the invisible hand of Vladimir Putin,”
he noted.
President Zelenskyy's visit to France underscores the critical importance of international support for Ukraine as it confronts evolving threats from drone warfare. The 'Shahed' drones have become a staple of Russian attacks, targeting civilian infrastructure and military positions.
This diplomatic engagement also highlights the growing international interest in Ukraine's security challenges, particularly regarding new combat technologies. Engaging foreign partners to share expertise and receive technical aid is a vital step in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities against modern threats.
