According to Пенсії (RSS): As of August 30, 2023, Ukraine's Pension Fund had covered more than UAH 91 billion in payouts across pensions, housing subsidies, other benefits, insurance payouts, social assistance, and additional categories. During the same month, people who reached out to Pension Fund offices received more than 1.1 million services-1,175.9 thousand, to be precise.
The funding breakdown is as follows:
- Pension payouts: UAH 75.8 billion;
- Housing subsidies and other benefits: UAH 1.5 billion;
- Insurance payouts: UAH 3.1 billion, including UAH 1.8 billion for sick leave;
- Social assistance and other payouts: UAH 11.2 billion.
In August, Pension Fund offices delivered 1,175.9 thousand services to people asking for support. These figures highlight the Fund's heavy workload amid today's challenges.
Pension Fund payouts remain a vital part of Ukraine's social safety net, especially when the economy is under pressure.
The scale of public money going into pensions and social aid shows that the government is still supporting vulnerable groups. It also shows how many people depend on the Fund's services and assistance. For an English-speaking audience, this is a reminder that Ukraine's welfare infrastructure is functioning despite the strains of the ongoing war. In this context, the Pension Fund continues to play a central role in maintaining social stability in the country.
