Poroshenko Responds to Intense Attacks on Ukrainian Cities: Casualties Reported and 149 Military Units Delivered
Petro Poroshenko Addresses the Recent Large-Scale Enemy Assault
According to 5 канал: Ukraine’s fifth president, Petro Poroshenko, spoke out following a massive enemy offensive across multiple Ukrainian cities. He shared information about casualties and fatalities, while emphasizing the urgent need to strengthen the armed forces to secure a just and lasting peace. This week, his team contributed 149 pieces of military equipment and vehicles to support the troops.
Overview of the Attack
The assault involved the use of advanced weaponry such as ‘Zircon’ and ‘Iskander’ missiles, cruise missiles, and over a hundred strike drones. The cities targeted included:
- Kyiv
- Pryluky
- Kremenchuk
- Oleksandriia
- Dnipro
- Zaporizhzhia
Critical infrastructure and residential buildings were hit, resulting in both deaths and injuries. Specifically, the attack on Kremenchuk caused two fatalities and left 33 people wounded.
“On a day when a normal person lights birthday candles, this enemy kills people and demolishes apartment blocks. Today, peaceful Ukrainian cities endured strikes from 'Zircons,' 'Iskanders,' cruise missiles, and over a hundred attack drones. Kyiv, Pryluky, Kremenchuk, Oleksandriia, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia... Under the rubble of vital infrastructure and multi-story buildings, victims are still being recovered. We do not yet know how many can be saved and how many lives the enemy has taken forever.” Petro Poroshenko
Poroshenko also shared his perspective on achieving peace:
“We all desire peace, but first there must be an immediate, comprehensive, unconditional, and complete ceasefire. To achieve this, Ukraine needs long-range missiles, air defense systems, and aircraft. Equally important are top-level diplomats fluent in Putin’s language – the Armed Forces of Ukraine.” Petro Poroshenko
It is worth noting that Poroshenko has proposed his peace plan since 2014. Throughout 2022–2023, discussions about ending hostilities rejected the Minsk-3 format, emphasizing the need for security guarantees, summits, and negotiations.
The current situation remains highly volatile, with Poroshenko continuing to advocate for boosting Ukraine’s military capabilities as a foundation for peace.
This large-scale attack highlights the severe risks faced by civilians and underscores the critical importance of supporting Ukraine’s defense efforts. Poroshenko’s calls for enhanced military strength reflect the reality that peace is unattainable without a robust defense. International aid is also essential, as Ukraine will struggle to secure the necessary resources to counter ongoing aggression without global support.
In light of the ongoing military aggression, the humanitarian situation in Ukraine is deteriorating rapidly. As Petro Poroshenko emphasizes the need for immediate action, it is crucial for international bodies to respond effectively.
