According to hvylya.net: The State Bureau of Investigations has announced that military personnel who have unlawfully left their unit have the opportunity to return to service until August 30.
According to the new law dated May 8, 2025, military personnel who have deserted their unit can return until August 30, 2025. This simplified process applies only to those who have deserted for the first time.
How the process of returning after desertion works:
- If a military personnel left their unit for less than 3 days, they will be reimbursed for monetary, food, and other provisions. Criminal proceedings are possible, but administrative responsibility may also apply.
- If a military personnel left their unit for more than 3 days and expressed a desire to return by August 30, 2025, criminal proceedings will be initiated or terminated.
Military personnel who have deserted are given the opportunity to legalize their return to service by a certain deadline. This helps avoid serious consequences and facilitates reintegration into military ranks.
