Fire Erupts in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi District

According to Главком: Firefighters extinguished a blaze in a residential building in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district on January 21st, successfully rescuing four individuals, one of whom was a child. The fire broke out at 22:13 on Divilova Street in a five-story building. It originated in a first-floor apartment and rapidly spread to the second floor.

Emergency crews responded promptly to the call and evacuated the four people from the building. Two of those rescued required medical attention and were handed over to paramedics. The firefighting operation lasted three hours, concluding at 01:14. The total area affected by the fire was 60 square meters. Fortunately, there were no fatalities. Law enforcement officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire.

This incident follows two other fires that occurred in Kyiv on January 19th:

  • One fire took place at a public catering establishment on Voskresenskyi Avenue in the Dniprovskyi district;
  • The other occurred in a five-story residential building in the Solomianskyi district, where one person was rescued from the burning apartment and three others were evacuated from neighboring units during the firefighting effort.

These recent events highlight ongoing fire risks in urban residential areas. The swift response of rescue services in these cases prevented greater tragedy and underscores the critical importance of both emergency preparedness and functional safety infrastructure.
