Advice from the State Emergency Service
It is necessary to be careful about the place where the fire should be. It should be cleared of dry wood to prevent the fire from spreading through the grass layer on the surface of the soil.
Lighting a fire for burning dry leaves, stalks, and garbage on the premises of private residential houses, gardens, and summer cottages is allowed at a distance of at least 15 meters from residential and agricultural buildings and structures.
Starting a fire in windy weather is strictly prohibited. Do not leave the fire unattended; monitor the burning process. Afterwards, it is necessary to extinguish the fire and ensure that the burning process has ended.
We remind you that the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has published a shocking number of fires in Ukrainian ecosystems. Just in one day, there were 1263 fires in the ecosystems.
At that time, over 966 hectares of Ukrainian nature were destroyed by fire. People continue to burn dry vegetation despite bans, fines, and daily appeals from rescuers.
Ukraine is facing a serious fire problem in natural ecosystems, leading to significant destruction of the environment and threats to the life and property of the inhabitants of the country. To avoid fires, it is essential to follow the instructions of the State Emergency Service and be as responsible as possible when having a fire in open areas.
