IMF and Ukraine Prepare New Program: Key Conditions for Financing

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko met with representatives of the International Monetary Fund led by Gavin Graham in Kyiv. The main topic of discussion was the preparation of a new IMF Extended Fund Program for Ukraine for the next four years amidst the war.

During the meeting, the government presented its reform plan in the energy sector, such as launching a competition for the composition of the supervisory board of NAEK 'Energoatom' and conducting a full audit of the company. Questions regarding the State Budget-2026, which is already under consideration in Parliament, were also discussed. It is important to adopt the budget by December 2 to receive financing from the IMF starting next year.

The Prime Minister thanked the IMF team for their assistance and cooperation.

Ukraine continues to work on strengthening financial stability and reforms, cooperating with international partners to support the country in this difficult situation. The new IMF financing program could be an important step in this direction.
