Sanctions Target Ex-MP in Land Probe

According to НАБУ: Ukraine's president has placed sanctions on a former legislator from the banned Party of Regions. The ex-lawmaker is a suspect in a case over the seizure of land tied to the Stolychnyi market, and the measure is based on National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) findings that revealed a Russian trace in his dealings. According to investigators, he used a Russian passport, while companies connected to him did business in Russia and in territories under temporary occupation, paying taxes to the aggressor nation's budget.

NABU detectives also linked the former politician to people involved in financing hostile armed groups, and that information was passed to the Security Service of Ukraine. In August 2026, NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) wrapped up their investigation into a scheme involving nine land parcels of Stolychnyi market. He is suspected of laundering illegal profits, and his attorneys are currently reviewing the case materials.
