Prometheus Launches 'Pathway to Employment in the EU' Program

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: The 'Pathway to Employment in the EU' initiative by Prometheus provides no-cost career coaching tailored for Ukrainians residing in Poland and Germany. This program focuses on aligning participants’ skills and professional experience with the demands of the European labor market. The need is pressing: 42% of Ukrainians in these countries are currently employed in roles unrelated to their qualifications, while 40% reported being unemployed during the survey. Moreover, 84% of respondents consider finding or changing jobs an urgent priority.

Eligibility and Program Details

Starting in early 2026, Prometheus will roll out career support programs for Ukrainians abroad. The autumn session of 'Pathway to Employment in the EU' is funded by a grant from INCO Academy. Applicants must meet these criteria:

  • Have lived in Poland or Germany for at least four months,
  • Hold a higher education degree,
  • Possess language skills at B1+ level in Polish or German, or B1 in English,
  • Be proficient with digital tools and ready to pursue new job opportunities soon.

Applications are accepted until October 15, 2026. The training phase runs from October 15 to November 30, 2026.

Participants gain skills relevant to the international job market, receive personalized career advice, and get dedicated support in finding employment within Poland or Germany. Career assistance will continue through February 2027. In the previous cohort, 567 individuals benefited from career counseling, with 115 receiving one-on-one consultations-73 in Poland and 42 in Germany. Of these, 25 secured jobs, and 162 remain actively job hunting.

Oksana Zugrava, a program representative, highlighted: 'Despite having higher education, extensive experience, and strong qualifications, many face new employer expectations, language challenges, and the need to re-establish their professional value after relocating.'

The program offers comprehensive services including career planning, profile analysis, creation of a Master CV, LinkedIn optimization, crafting motivation letters, recruiter engagement training, interview preparation, use of AI tools for job searches, skill assessments, and guidance on official diploma recognition. Prometheus is also expanding partnerships in Poland and Germany, collaborating with Ukrainian companies that have relocated to these countries.

Beyond individual job seekers, the 'Pathway to Employment in the EU' program plays a crucial role in helping the Ukrainian community integrate into new environments while boosting their competitiveness on the European job market. Given the significant employment challenges faced by many Ukrainians, this initiative equips them with vital resources to overcome barriers. It also fosters connections between Ukrainian professionals and European employers, potentially benefiting the economies of both regions.

In addition to programs like Prometheus's initiative, Ukrainians seeking employment in the EU can also benefit from a dedicated hotline launched in Ukraine, which provides free assistance for job searches abroad. This service aims to support those navigating the complexities of finding work in a new country. For more details, visit the hotline for job search in the EU.
