PSG may sell Russian goalkeeper Safonov through the transfer of Zabeyny: details
Turkish journalist Berik Gel spoke about the possible transfer of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov from PSG to Galatasaray. He believes that this transfer could be very profitable for the Turkish club due to the circumstances in the football transfer market.
According to glavcom.ua: Matvey Safonov has been offered to Galatasaray. There is one detail in this story. PSG is buying Ukrainian defender Ilya Zabeyny from Bournemouth. They really want to acquire him, and he was given a promise: 'There will be no Russian players in the team, we will send Safonov away'. And this could be a profitable transfer for Galatasaray. During the sanctions, when Russian players could not get to Europe, PSG believed in him and paid 20 million euros for him. Now no one would spend 20 million euros on a player from Russia without reason. This is a sign for me,” stated Berik Gel.
The potential transfer of Safonov has drawn attention due to his Russian citizenship, which makes him less attractive to European clubs. Thus, Galatasaray could become an appealing option for the goalkeeper if he wants to stay in Europe.
