The Verkhovna Rada today made the decision to dismiss Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and the entire government. This came as a surprise to many, as Shmyhal had led the government for more than five years, making his term the longest in the history of Ukraine. The Prime Minister personally addressed the President with a request for dismissal, and active actions will now begin to form a new government. Among the potential candidates for the post of Prime Minister are discussed the names of Yulia Svyrydenko, Mykhailo Fedorov, Oleksiy Kubela, and Taras Kachka with various portfolios. For now, the government will continue to fulfill its duties until a new Cabinet of Ministers is formed.
