Масштабна трагедія на підприємстві: внаслідок ракетного обстрілу загинули двоє людей, ще кілька отримали поранення.

Missile Attack Targets ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: In the early hours of September 12, Russian forces launched a missile strike on the ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih plant, resulting in the deaths of two contractors and injuries to two additional employees. Rescue operations are ongoing at the site, as initially only one fatality was reported before the discovery of a second victim. This brings the confirmed death toll to two.

Following the attack, an emergency response plan was activated at the facility. Firefighters, occupational safety officials, rescuers, and medical personnel are all working on-site and providing treatment to the wounded at medical centers in Kryvyi Rih. The missile strike caused damage to both production and auxiliary structures of this key civilian mining and metallurgical enterprise, according to company representatives.

Previous Attacks on the Facility

This incident is not isolated. In December 2022, a Russian missile destroyed the plant's rolling mill workshop, killing one employee. Additionally, in August 2023, a missile strike killed two workers and one contractor, injuring 18 others. That attack severely damaged critical energy and blast furnace production units, forcing a partial shutdown of the plant's operations.

On the same night as the latest strike, Russian forces launched ballistic missile attacks on Kryvyi Rih from multiple directions. This comes amid a series of assaults on industrial targets, including the missile attack on the Kametstal plant in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region, on September 5, which killed five employees, injured four, and completely halted the enterprise’s operations.

This attack highlights the persistent danger missile strikes pose to civilian industrial facilities across Ukraine.

Given the critical role these industrial plants play in Ukraine's economy during wartime, they remain prime targets for hostile actions that cause tragic loss of life and extensive destruction. The swift response by emergency teams demonstrates efforts to provide immediate aid and reduce the attack’s impact. However, the recurrence of such incidents underscores the urgent need to strengthen security measures and protect civilian infrastructure.

The ongoing conflict has seen a troubling pattern of attacks on civilian infrastructure, as evidenced by recent events in Kryvyi Rih. Just days before the missile strike on the ArcelorMittal plant, the city experienced a devastating drone assault that resulted in multiple casualties, including rescuers. Such incidents underscore the escalating threats faced by industrial sites across Ukraine.
