According to Главком: China has become the leading customer for Russia's seaborne oil exports, displacing India, which has significantly reduced its purchases. In February 2026, deliveries of Russian oil to China reached an all-time high, the largest volume ever recorded. During the first half of February, the volume of seaborne oil shipments from Russia to China increased by 21% compared to the previous month, with Beijing now purchasing an average of 2.08 million barrels per day. India's reduction of Russian oil imports to a two-year low in December of last year contributed to the surge in exports to China.
