Kyiv Roadworks Cause Traffic Restrictions Through October
Traffic Restrictions and Repairs Underway in Kyiv
According to Главком: From July to October 2024, several districts of Kyiv will face traffic restrictions and repair work. Starting July 4 and running through October 31, pedestrian movement will be partially limited on Hlybochytska Street in the Shevchenkivskyi District. Crews will be repairing the sidewalk along the stretch from Nyzhniy Val Street to Sichovykh Striltsiv Street.
In addition, major repairs continue on Valeriy Lobanovskyi Avenue. The first phase covers the section between Maksym Kryvonos Street and Andriy Holovko Street (even-numbered side). Full completion of this capital repair project is scheduled for sometime next year.
Additional Restrictions and Repairs
Another set of restrictions involves the overpass over the tram tracks on Velyka Kiltseva Road, where temporary traffic limits will be in place until August 20. During the overpass repair, access is limited to the first lane and part of the second lane heading toward Lytovskyi Avenue.
Meanwhile, until August 1, traffic on Roman Shukhevych Avenue in the Desnyanskyi District will be partially restricted. Repairs are being carried out daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Asphalt concrete pavement is being renewed on the segment from the bridge over the Desenka River to Bratyslavska Street in the direction of Troieshchyna.
It is worth noting that due to air temperatures exceeding +28°C, temporary restrictions on heavy truck traffic are in effect in Kyiv. The ban on entry and movement applies to heavy vehicles with an actual weight over 24 tons or an axle load exceeding 7 tons.
These traffic restrictions and repair efforts in Kyiv aim to improve infrastructure and ensure the safety of both pedestrians and drivers.
Residents and visitors should stay informed about these changes, as they may affect daily traffic and accessibility to certain areas. Timely awareness of the restrictions can help avoid congestion and inconvenience while navigating the city.
As Kyiv continues to address its infrastructure challenges, another significant project is the upcoming repairs on the Palladin Overpass. This scheduled partial closure will further impact traffic flow in the city. It is essential for residents and commuters to stay updated on these developments to plan their routes accordingly.
