According to glavcom.ua: Russia is strengthening its military base in the city of Gyumri, attracting servicemen from various regions, including Crimea. This is part of the Kremlin's strategy to increase military pressure on the countries of the South Caucasus, particularly Azerbaijan.

A representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense emphasized that the deployment of Russian troops in Armenia is an integral part of Moscow's plan to destabilize the situation in the Caucasus. Volunteer mobilization is also taking place in this region, particularly in North Ossetia and Adygea.

“Along with the rise of interethnic conflict, Moscow is increasing its military presence in the Caucasus. The deterioration of relations between Azerbaijan and Russia was likely planned in advance,” the representative of the GUR MO explained.

Recently, Azerbaijan sharply reacted to these actions by Russia, canceling all cultural events organized by Russian institutions. Searches were also conducted at the branch of the Russian agency Sputnik-Azerbaijan, during which two agents of the FSB of Russia were detained.

As a result, Russia continues to strengthen its military presence in Armenia, which may lead to further escalation of relations with Azerbaijan and other countries in the South Caucasus.
