According to ХВИЛЯ: Meteorologist Natalka Didenko forecasts a sharp weather reversal for Ukraine on February 4th, as a bitter cold spell yields to warmer temperatures and precipitation. On the night of February 4th, temperatures across the country will plunge to between -12 and -19 degrees Celsius, with the northern and northeastern regions experiencing an even deeper freeze of -15 to -22 degrees. Daytime highs on the 4th will reach only -9 to -13 degrees, while the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Luhansk regions will see temperatures as low as -14 degrees.

The change will first arrive in western Ukraine, where daytime temperatures on February 4th will climb to a milder -2 to -6 degrees. In Zakarpattia, the mercury will rise to +4 degrees, bringing rain, while other western oblasts can expect snow and sleet. By the evening of the 4th, precipitation will spread to the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and Odesa regions. In Kyiv, overnight lows will drop to -17 to -19 degrees, warming slightly to -10 degrees during the day. The capital may see light snow in the evening, accompanied by strengthening winds of 10-12 m/s.

Outlook for the Coming Days

A significant warming trend with precipitation and strong winds will arrive in Ukraine on February 5th. However, a new wave of cold is predicted from February 9th through the 12th. A more sustained period of warmer weather is not expected until after February 12th.
