Reduction of Job Vacancies in Ukraine in 2025

In 2025, Ukraine is experiencing a sharp reduction in job vacancies compared to 2021, as confirmed by analytics from OLX Work. A significant decrease in job offers has occurred in many sectors, including those that traditionally had a high demand for personnel.

Main Changes in Employment Sectors

In the cleaning and domestic personnel sector, the number of vacancies has decreased by 95%, from 3797 in 2021 to only 198 in 2025. A significant reduction in vacancies is also observed in the hotel and restaurant business, where the number of offers decreased by 91% — from 3265 to 301. For taxi drivers, vacancies have decreased by 90%, from 2772 to 275.

  • In retail, the number of vacancies for supervisors has dropped from 32 to 8, reflecting a decrease of 75%.
  • In the food industry, the number of vacancies for confectioners decreased from 302 to 93, which is a 69% reduction.
  • In accounting, the number of vacancies for accountants has decreased from 1083 to 415, which constitutes a decrease of 62%.
  • In the logistics sector, there is a decrease in vacancies for truck drivers: their number has dropped from 363 to 165 (a decrease of 54%).
  • Vacancies for commodity experts have decreased from 68 to 32 (a decrease of 53%).
  • The number of vacancies for sales managers has dropped from 2465 to 1271, which is a decrease of 48%.
  • Vacancies for welders have decreased from 270 to 142 (a decrease of 47%), and for secretaries — from 64 to 38 (a decrease of 41%).

Data indicates that significant changes are happening in Ukraine's labor market, which may affect the economic situation in the country and the welfare of its citizens.

The reduction of vacancies in these sectors may indicate structural changes in the Ukrainian economy, which could be caused by various factors such as economic instability, changing consumer habits, or the impact of external circumstances. This, in turn, may lead to an increase in unemployment and a decrease in the population's income, which requires attention from government structures and businesses to develop effective response strategies.
