According to Главком: On April 17, Russian military forces launched attacks on Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region, resulting in civilian casualties, injuries, and significant destruction. The strikes impacted the Dnipro, Nikopol, and Synelnykove districts, as confirmed by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Ganzha. This region, a key industrial and logistical hub, has been a frequent target since the full-scale invasion began.
Civilian Casualties and Widespread Damage
In the regional center, four people were injured: a 54-year-old woman was hospitalized in moderate condition, while three men (aged 28, 29, and 49) received outpatient care. In the Dnipro district, a 63-year-old woman was wounded and hospitalized.
The Nikopol district suffered the heaviest toll:
- One man was killed;
- Six people were wounded, with two men (aged 28 and 50) hospitalized and others treated on-site;
- A car service station, private homes, and residents' vehicles were damaged.
In the Synelnykove district, a 64-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman were wounded and hospitalized. Over the past day, more than 50 attacks on settlements were recorded across Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The strikes affected not only Nikopol and Synelnykove but also the Samara and Kryvyi Rih districts, highlighting the intensifying conflict in southern and eastern Ukraine.
