The assaults targeted areas in Lviv, Odesa, and Mykolaiv oblasts, as well as the city of Kryvyi Rih. These strikes are part of a sustained Russian campaign to degrade Ukraine's civilian infrastructure, particularly its energy grid, as winter continues. In Lviv Oblast, infrastructure was hit, though preliminary reports indicate no casualties. Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, stated that all relevant emergency services are on-site and the situation remains fluid.

In the early hours of January 27, Russian forces also attacked Odesa with drones. This assault resulted in 22 people being injured. The strike damaged critical infrastructure, residential buildings, a kindergarten, a store, and a construction site. Separately, overnight on January 27, drones targeted energy infrastructure in Mykolaiv Oblast. Furthermore, on the evening of January 26, Russian forces struck an apartment building in Kryvyi Rih with a drone; however, information on casualties from that attack is not yet available.
