Odesa Region Targeted in Overnight Strike

According to Главком: In the early hours of January 21, Russian military forces launched an attack on southern Odesa Oblast. The assault resulted in one casualty, a 50-year-old man who required hospitalization, and inflicted damage on local infrastructure, including the destruction of a warehouse containing furniture. These attacks are part of a sustained Russian campaign targeting Ukraine's southern regions and vital Black Sea ports.

Wider Assault Across Ukraine

This strike on Odesa was one component of a broader wave of aggression across Ukraine that same night. The Russian terrorist army also targeted Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Furthermore, a ballistic missile impact and strikes by attack drones were recorded in Zaporizhzhia, where residential areas were hit. In total, the assault involved the launch of one 'Iskander-M' ballistic missile and 97 attack UAVs.

According to reports, impacts from the ballistic missile and 13 attack drones were confirmed at 11 different locations. Fires ignited by the attacks were promptly extinguished by rescue services, as stated by Oleg Kiper. These events underscore the persistent threat Russian aggression poses to Ukrainian civilians and critical infrastructure.

The overnight attacks on January 21 demonstrate the continuation of systematic shelling of Ukrainian territories by Russian forces, which aim to destabilize the situation in the regions. Damage to infrastructure and the threat to civilian lives remain critical issues demanding international attention and response. These incidents highlight the ongoing necessity of supporting Ukraine in its defense against aggression and in protecting its civilian population.
