Fires broke out in a nine-story apartment building, igniting units on the seventh and eighth floors, and in a shopping center, where the blaze covered approximately 60 square meters. Additionally, a private house and the roof of another shopping center were damaged.

This attack occurred against a backdrop of intensifying shelling that began on February 24, 2026, when Russian troops launched 643 strikes across 32 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. Local authorities received 218 reports of damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure. This southern Ukrainian region has been a focal point of fighting since the early stages of the full-scale invasion. The previous day, on February 25, four people were killed and two wounded in the Zaporizhzhia district.
