Russia has lost over 11 thousand tanks: how the enemy's reserves are running out
Open-source researcher Jompy published his updated analysis of Russia's armored vehicle reserves using satellite imagery and inventory checks. According to his data, most of the vehicles left in storage are in very poor condition, and only a few dozen tanks can be considered 'usable'.
According to Jompy's table, which contains data on the equipment in Russian warehouses, tanks are divided into several categories based on condition and repairability: there are tanks in 'satisfactory', 'poor', and 'worse/destroyed' condition.
It is worth noting that after significant waves of reactivation, disassembly for parts, and combat losses, the repairable stock of equipment has also diminished, indicating that Russia has already exhausted a significant portion of its preserved reserves.
Overall, the study shows that Russia has depleted most of its reserves of armored vehicles and artillery, forcing it to use old and worn-out equipment to maintain the combat capability of its units. It is also noted that since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Russian Federation has lost a significant number of tanks.
