Rail Traffic Suspended at Key Border Points

According to Главком: Starting July 1, the Russian government has decided to temporarily halt all movement through rail border crossings with Finland, Estonia, and Latvia. The restrictions apply to individuals, vehicles, goods, and cargo. The official decree does not specify the reasons behind the closures.

Specifically, the following rail hubs along the Finnish border will be blocked:

• Vyborg
• Värtsilä
• Luttya
• St. Petersburg-Finlyandsky
• Svetogorsk

Crossings with Estonia will be fully suspended at Pechory-Pskovskiye, while the Pytalovo checkpoint on the Latvian border will also cease operations. Russia's Foreign Ministry has been instructed to notify Finland, Estonia, and Latvia of the decision.

Fuel Crisis Grips Russia

Meanwhile, Russia is facing a severe fuel shortage triggered by massive Ukrainian drone strikes. The gasoline deficit has spread from occupied Crimea to southern regions, Siberia, and Moscow. The strictest fuel limits are in place across all Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine, Siberia, and most of southern Russia. Moscow and a few remote areas remain the only regions without official restrictions. At private gas stations in Moscow, prices have surged by 10%, reaching 80 rubles per liter.
