Russia's New TOS-3 'Dragon' Heavy Flamethrower System

According to Главком: The Russian Ministry of Defense has showcased the frontline use of its new TOS-3 'Dragon' heavy flamethrower system. This weapon is described as an upgraded version of the 'Solntsepyok' (Sunchoke) thermobaric launcher, featuring a new launch unit with 15 tubes. The TOS-3 'Dragon' can fire at ranges between 15 and 24 kilometers. Its design incorporates additional protective screens, including a double-layered mesh screen and an arc-shaped metal plate welded to the front of the vehicle, enhancing its survivability against counter-fire.

Ukrainian Defense Operations and Battlefield Toll

In the past day, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 800 Russian personnel. The invading forces, meanwhile, carried out one missile strike using 22 missiles, conducted 70 airstrikes, dropped 201 guided aerial bombs, and deployed 5,418 'kamikaze' drones. In total, the enemy launched 2,476 attacks on Ukrainian settlements and military positions.

On the Pokrovsk front, a key sector in the Donetsk region, 36 occupiers were killed and 17 wounded. Ukrainian forces also destroyed or damaged 4 units of automotive equipment, neutralized or suppressed 98 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types, damaged two enemy artillery systems, and struck 15 enemy shelters. These figures illustrate the intense and costly nature of the current fighting.

The deployment of the new TOS-3 'Dragon' system signals Russia's continued investment in heavy firepower, which could influence tactical engagements along the front.
