Russia's Large-Scale Strike on March 30

According to Главком: In the early hours of March 30, Russia carried out a major attack, deploying an Iskander-M ballistic missile alongside 164 attack drones. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, as of an 08:30 report, impacts from the ballistic missile and 12 attack drones had been confirmed at seven locations. Ukrainian defenses managed to shoot down or jam 150 of the unmanned aerial vehicles, which included models such as the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas. Debris from downed drones was also reported to have fallen in two areas.

At the time of the report, the assault was still ongoing, with several hostile drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace. This attack is part of a broader pattern of intensified strikes across the country. In the past day, other regions also came under fire, with 25 settlements shelled in the Sumy region. Additionally, a critical infrastructure facility in Chernihiv was struck late on the evening of March 29.

Combat Engagements and Shelling

Military data indicates the past 24 hours saw 147 separate combat clashes. During this period, Russian forces launched one missile strike, 70 airstrikes, and used 237 guided aerial bombs along with 9,355 kamikaze drones. Furthermore, there were 3,912 instances of shelling targeting both civilian settlements and military positions, 61 of which involved multiple launch rocket systems. As of publication, this marks the 1,496th day of the full-scale war.

This latest assault underscores the continued intensity of the conflict, now in its fourth year. The use of advanced weaponry like ballistic missiles and diverse drone models highlights the evolving nature of modern warfare in this conflict. The high volume of attacks places immense strain on Ukraine's air defenses and civilian infrastructure, with significant humanitarian consequences.

The ongoing conflict has seen a series of significant assaults, including a recent incident on March 9, where Ukraine successfully intercepted a large number of drones but still faced damage to some strategic targets.
