Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated: “Ballistic, cruise, and anti-ship missiles, along with jet-powered Shahed drones, have caused serious damage to residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in the capital. Critical infrastructure was hit in the region. In Odesa, a regular market was targeted. Two people were injured in Kharkiv, where a residential building was damaged. This morning, a shunting locomotive of the Kyiv–Sumy train was attacked at a railway station in Sumy region, fortunately without casualties. Evacuations are underway. Strikes also affected Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro.”

President Zelensky also emphasized the ongoing challenges with ballistic missile defense, despite effective interceptions of cruise missiles: “While results against cruise missiles have been very good, handling ballistic missiles remains especially difficult. We continue daily to communicate to our partners the urgent need for interceptors.” He confirmed that negotiations with U.S. and European allies have taken place and will continue with states and companies capable of supplying necessary defense equipment.
