Russians have intensified assaults in the island zone of Kherson

Russian troops have increased assault activities in Kherson, mainly on the islands, where the number of attacks has multiplied several times. This was reported by Vladislav Voloshin, spokesman for the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine.

In recent days, the number of enemy assaults on the islands has increased by 2-3 times. If previously there were 2-3 attacks daily, now this figure reaches 6-8-10, and sometimes even 11 per day.

Hostility is observed throughout the island zone from south to north. Russian troops are trying to seize the positions of Ukrainian fighters both near Zabychi Island and near the Antonivsky road and railway bridges.

The enemy is trying to secure strategically important positions

'The enemy is intensifying to have certain footholds in the island zone under control,' explained the spokesman. This indicates the attempts of Russian troops to secure strategically important positions for future operations.

In addition to ground assaults, the invaders have increased airstrikes in the south. Over the course of a day, they shelled more than two dozen settlements, using aviation equipment for this purpose.

Despite the intense enemy activity, Ukrainian defenders continue to effectively hold their positions and repel attacks from the enemy. Overall, the defense of the Ukrainian military in the island zone of Kherson remains strong.

The intensification of assault actions by Russian troops in Kherson, particularly on the islands, indicates the opponent's intention to secure strategic positions.
