According to УНІАН — Туризм: On September 9, 2023, at 10:00 AM, a hostile Shahed-type drone struck a train traveling between Kharkiv and Izyum near the village of Iskra. The drone hit the rear section of the train, triggering a fire and injuring six individuals.

Recent Strikes on Railway Transportation

This incident occurred just one day after Russia launched two targeted attacks on a Kyiv-Sumy train near Sumy on September 8, 2023, which fortunately caused no casualties. On the same day, enemy forces also assaulted a regional train operating between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia. Thanks to timely evacuation efforts, further injuries were prevented, although the train conductor tragically died after returning to the train following an evacuation order.

Oleksandr Peretsovsky, Chairman of Ukrainian Railways, highlighted that railway vehicles and infrastructure in frontline communities remain primary targets for the adversary.

"The impact was recorded at a railway station close to the village of Iskra. The hostile drone struck the rear of the train, causing a fire," reported the Izyum Military-Civil Administration.

These attacks underscore the severe risks faced by Ukraine’s railway system amid ongoing hostilities.
