Russian athlete complained about the 'bad president' of World Athletics
According to glavcom.ua: Russians will not be able to participate in international athletics competitions while Sebastian Coe leads World Athletics, said Danilo Lysenko, a Russian high jumper.
«I will not delve deeply into the possible return. I don’t know the current state of relations between our federation and World Athletics. But I know that World Athletics will hardly allow us under this president. We have such a president, not very good. But I believe in the possibility of this (participation in the world championship). And I have a strange feeling that we will compete again on the international stage. I am 28 years old, and I plan to compete for at least another five years. I think something will change for the better for us soon. Our federation is really trying, I see this», said Lysenko to Russian propagandists.
Danilo Lysenko is 28 years old, he is the world indoor champion of 2018, a silver medalist at the 2017 World Championship, and a two-time champion of Russia (2017, 2023). Russian athletes have been banned from international competitions due to Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Recall that Ukrainian defenders eliminated Russian occupier Andriy Sobolev, the brother of famous Russian para-athlete Vitaliy Sobolev. Vitaliy is a master of sports of international class in Russia, a silver medalist of the European Championship in sitting volleyball, a member of the Russian national team, and the captain of the Buryatia sitting volleyball team.
The news reveals the story behind the ban on Russian athletes from participating in international competitions due to aggression against Ukraine, as well as Lysenko's reaction to this situation and his hopes for the future.
