SBU uncovered 207 Russian agents in the Armed Forces of Ukraine: how military counterintelligence operates

The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, is actively exposing Russian agents in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the war, 207 Russian agents have been identified, of which 52 were servicemen, and 44 traitors have been brought to justice. In 2025, the military counterintelligence of the SBU stopped the activities of three intelligence networks in the Zaporizhia, Odesa, and Lviv regions. It is reported that agents who were working for the benefit of Russia and against Ukrainian defense structures were detained. During a special operation in Odesa, participants of an anti-Ukrainian cell were arrested, who prepared coordinates for Russian special services. In addition to identifying agents, the SBU struck at Russian equipment on the battlefield, destroying 219 tanks and 358 combat vehicles, as well as preventing the theft of billions of hryvnias in the defense sector. Dozens of schemes for evading mobilization and illegal arms trafficking were also terminated.
