The average salary in Ukraine has reached a new high: how much they pay

In February 2026, the average salary in Ukraine reached UAH 28,321, which is 1.2% more than in January. The indicator continues to gradually rise, despite a difficult economic situation. This is reported by “Derzhstat”.

Average salary in Ukraine 2026: where they pay the most

The highest salaries are traditionally recorded in the capital and the surrounding region. According to statistical data:

• UAH 45,651 - in the city of Kyiv

• UAH 29,077 - in Kyiv region.

At the same time, the lowest figures are recorded in several regions:

• UAH 20,083 - in Kirovohrad region

• UAH 20,460 - in Chernivtsi region.

Salaries by sectors in Ukraine: who earns the most

A significant difference is also observed depending on the sphere of activity. The highest incomes are received by employees in IT and telecommunications:

• UAH 78,941 - information and telecommunications.

The lowest salaries remain in the field of culture and entertainment:

• UAH 18,681 - arts, sports, entertainment and recreation.

As of March 1, 2026, there is also a backlog in salary payments at the level of UAH 3.5 million.

Data indicates a significant income differentiation depending on the region and sector. At the same time, the overall trend shows a slow increase in wages in the country against the backdrop of rising living costs.

It should be noted that in February 2026, the average salary in Kharkiv region ranges from UAH 22,000 to UAH 26,000. Despite the difficult security situation, the region demonstrates some of the highest wage levels outside Kyiv.
