NHL and Serie A have signed a cooperation agreement
According to glavcom.ua: The National Hockey League and the Italian football Serie A have signed a cooperation agreement. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing the NHL.
The contract was signed ahead of the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. Now leading European NHL players will train together with players and legends of Serie A. Ahead of the Olympic Games in Milan, on August 22, the annual European media tour of NHL players will take place in the city.
On August 23, NHL players will visit the training bases of several Serie A clubs and participate in special events aimed at highlighting the connections between world-class footballers and hockey players for fans of each sport. Later that day, the hockey players will attend the season opening match between 'Milan' and 'Cremonese' at 'San Siro' in Milan.
Ukrainian athletes at the World Summer Universiade
Let us remind you that Ukraine won its second gold medal at the World Summer Universiade. In the weight category up to 58 kg, taekwondo athlete Maxim Manenkov won the medal. His colleague Kirill Gurnov became a bronze medalist in the weight category up to 80 kg. The Ukrainian team now has seven awards of various kinds.
Maxim Manenkov admitted that the success was inspired by boxer Oleksandr Usyk's victory:
Don't hold back the horses. The goal was to show that I am the best in my weight class at this tournament. This is a preparatory step towards the World Championship, which will take place in two months.
Kirill Gurnov, a member of the Ukrainian taekwondo team, commented on his bronze award:
Every athlete hopes for gold and strives to achieve it, but a medal at such a high-level championship is also a significant achievement.
The NHL and Serie A have signed a cooperation agreement. Now European NHL players will train with footballers and legends of the Italian Serie A. All this will create new opportunities for cooperation between athletes and provide fans with unforgettable sports experiences.
