Ukrainian Commander Reports 1,200-Kilometer Frontline and 197 Aerial Bombs in a Day
Frontline Situation as of Early February
According to Главком: Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's Armed Forces, has detailed the current situation on the front. The active combat line now stretches approximately 1,200 kilometers, indicating severe fighting across a vast area. The depth of combat formations reaches 15-20 kilometers, signifying an expansion of hostilities deeper into the territory. This scale of engagement highlights the immense pressure on Ukrainian defenses.
In the previous day alone, Russian forces conducted 80 air strikes, dropping 197 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, they deployed 6,235 'kamikaze' drones and carried out 3,044 bombardments of Ukrainian towns and military positions. Of these bombardments, 65 utilized multiple launch rocket systems. These figures underscore a significant escalation in the intensity of combat operations.
Primary Areas of Combat
Commander Syrskyi noted that the occupiers are concentrating their main efforts on several key axes:
- Pokrovsk
- Ocheretyne
- Oleksandrivka
Forces and equipment are also being amassed on the Kramatorsk axis, particularly towards Kostiantynivka, while active combat persists on the Lyman axis. The intensity of fighting remains heavily dependent on weather conditions.
It is important to note that Russian troops have captured a village in the Kharkiv region and made advances in two other oblasts. The frontline situation remains complex and demands close observation. These developments occur as Russia seeks to exploit its current material and manpower advantages.
The current high level of activity from both sides suggests preparations for potential large-scale offensives. The concentration of Russian forces in critical directions like Kramatorsk confirms enemy intentions to intensify combat, which will influence Ukrainian strategic planning. Events on the front require constant monitoring and analysis to enable timely responses to changes in the tactical situation.
