Combat Training Outcomes and New Initiatives

According to Главком: During a closed-door briefing for journalists, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, outlined the results of combat training and detailed changes to the military personnel training program. These reforms are part of Ukraine's ongoing effort to enhance the proficiency of its forces in a demanding war of attrition. A key new initiative is the implementation of a sixth edition of the training program, which now extends to 51 days. Furthermore, an additional adaptation period of up to 14 days has been introduced, its length dependent on the operational situation.

Syrskyi noted that since last autumn, regular audits of the quality of basic general military training have been conducted. This ensures an adequate standard of instruction for service members arriving from training centers. They must also pass a comprehensive exam, a critical component of the preparation process.

High Proficiency Levels and Soldier Safety

Oleksandr Syrskyi also emphasized that Ukrainian soldiers demonstrate a high level of training, while the enemy sustains greater losses. According to him, in small arms engagements, Ukrainian forces prevail over the adversary in 90% of cases. The direction of this training remains under the constant supervision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The number of instructors with combat experience is growing, and the material training base is being developed. Safety remains a priority, with the maximum number of classes being conducted in protected facilities.

The changes to the military training program signify the adaptation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to modern challenges and needs. Extending the training period and introducing additional preparation stages are designed to improve the combat capabilities of personnel, which is critically important in an active combat environment. The success of Ukrainian troops in small arms engagements also points to the effectiveness of the new training programs and approaches, which could significantly influence the further course of the conflict.
